Hello. I am Adam (23), Arild’s good friend and fellow biology student at the University of Oslo, Norway. Me and Arild go way back and have known each other ever since grade school. Coincidentally, we also share an apartment in Oslo for the time being. To say that we know each other, well, could be considered an understatement.
Where do I begin? To my great thrill, Arild recently saw fit to invite me along on a trip to San Diego. When I heard of his proposition, I thought to myself about what San Diego had to offer me: “Well, let’s see… San Diego Zoo, Sea World and then some kind of something with an open bar. (!)” Done. Sold. I slaughtered a goat for continued good fortune and accepted his invitation hands down. Or not quite, but you get the picture.

Me in my moment of zen.
Yes, well, putting aside the nonsense, we have actually got VIP tickets to go see Bear McCreary and his band perform their “The Music of Battlestar Galactica” show! For the record: One of the reasons the series was so well-made was because of the credibility that Bear’s music lended to the fictional culture of “Battlestar Galactica,” and I have to say I was impressed. The series was simply excellent!
Like Arild mentioned, I am currently on vacation at the family farm not far from Rochester, Minnesota. I have dual Norwegian/U.S. citizenship, so I come over to the States once every other year to visit family and such. The reason I mention it is simply to point out that we are not complete tourists (i.e. nincompoops), as I at least know what percentage is considered a polite tip. But as has been stated elsewhere, you will probably be given enough updates of our blog to be your own judge of how well we fare in San Diego.
A list of things I want to do in San Diego:
- Going to the HOB show (of course)
- Go to Comic Con
- Visit the San Diego Zoo
- Go drink free alchohol
- Visit Sea World
- Visit the beach
Yeah, did I mention I like animals?
