Okay, it’s safe for me to say now that the trip is going to happen! If you have absolutely no clue what I’m talking about, I strongly suggest that you riffle through this page.
So, the flights have already been booked, and the route will be as follows:
- Oslo to Amsterdam (2 hours)
- Amsterdam to Detroit (8 1/2 hours)
- Detroit to San Diego (4 1/2 hours)

For the curious people out there, I’m leaving on saturday, July 18, at 12:50 PM (UTC+1). Once there, I’m going to meet up with my friend, Adam, who’s coming with me. Then there’s going to be some good ol’ bear huntin’ until, eventually, I’m going to be sad and depressed on July 24, at 02:40 PM (UTC-8) when I’m leaving again.
My friend and I will be staying in San Diego longer than I had in mind back when Bear announced the winner. The first couple of days, we’ll be staying at the Hostelling International – San Diego Downtown. Personally, I love hostels! Not sure about Adam, though. I was on a road trip for an entire month in Europe last year with another friend of mine, and we visited countless hostels in various countries along the way. What I love most about these places is that you always get to meet new and cool people there! Maybe some of you reading this are staying at the same hostel as us? If so, do leave us a comment!
As for the two remaining days in San Diego, a little bird told me we’re going to stay on a certain hotel in San Diego, Downtown. More on that when it’s a 100 % confirmed!
Now, to present something to you from cold and rocky Norway, here’s a photo of what Norwegian nature looks like. Because, as you can totally see, the picture isn’t manipulated at all.

Maybe see you in San Diego?
